ACCE is happy to announce that its National Coordinator, Danjuma Gambo, has been promoted a Full Professor of Mass Communication in the Department of Mass Communication, University of Maiduguri, Bornu. His elevation takes effect from the year 2011. The National Secretary, Dr. Nnamdi Ekeanyanwu, signed the press release.

Professor Danjuma Gambo is an erudite media scholar who has served our dear Council creditably. He was the immediate past Deputy National Coordinator, ACCE (for 4 years) until his election as National Coordinator at the 15th National Conference/AGM held at FUT Minna in 2012. Since then, he has discharged his office well and has brought innovation to the Council activities, including presiding over the very successful Nsukka National Conference. At his home university, Professor Gambo has headed the Department of Mass Communication and coordinated various programmes and projects of the University. He was also the first ACCE Council member to win the competitive US sponsored Summer Study of the United States Institutes, which made him a US Alumni Member and a SUSI Scholar. He spent his fellowship year at the prestigious Institute for International Journalism, Scripps College of Communication, Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, USA. Until his recent elevation, Prof Danjuma Gambo was an Associate Professor of the same University.

ACCE is proud of his contributions and achievements and prays that his professorship will launch him to greater academic heights and glory, noting that the only reward for hardwork is more work.

I have always admired Prof Gambo from a distance. His simple and humble nature. And I have always wished him the very best. Thank God today, since becoming an academic, I have had the opportunity of meeting him at conferences and interacted personally with him. As an ACCE member, I am very happy at his recent elevation. I wish him a fruitful future and may he not relent in welldoing.
